Tracy Eyre Turner

Tracy Eyre Turner, 67, suddenly passed away at home while he was watching a movie with his sweetheart, Cindy. He was born June 18, 1955 on his parent’s third wedding anniversary. He is the son of R. Eyre and Valene Crowther Turner. He is the older brother of his sweet sister Allyson and caring brother Corey.

Tracy grew up on “The Island” in Logan, Utah. He attended Wilson Elementary, Logan Jr. High and Logan High School. He had fond memories of growing up there surrounded by so many young people around his age. In addition to enjoying many fun activities with his own family, he was blessed with many cousins. He especially enjoyed spending time with them in the great outdoors making legendary memories while camping, riding horses, swimming in the lakes and rivers, getting lost, etc.

Tracy served a two-year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the Texas Houston/San Antonio mission 1975-1977. He was a faithful member of the church throughout his life. He was eternally grateful for His Savior Jesus Christ, for his strong testimony and love for His Father in Heaven. He served in many callings throughout the years. He also enjoyed being in the Scouting program.

He attended Utah State University in the Communications program. He joined a Family Home Evening group through his church which is where he met a Tremonton gal who was just starting school at USU in the Elementary Education program. They dated regularly off and on for three years.

Since the time Tracy was very young, he had a strong love for his country and wanted to serve in the military like his dad and a long line of veterans in his family. He trained in the ROTC program in high school and college. He enlisted with the US Army in the fall of 1983. His first assignment was in Baumholder, Germany with the 1457th Engineer Battalion. He had been away from Cindy for several months and decided he didn’t like it so when he was on leave with his family in Logan, Utah, he asked Cindy to marry him. They were married August 15, 1984 in the Logan, Utah Temple. Tracy and Cindy enjoyed traveling all over Europe with family and friends. They made many life-long friends. Tracy also served at Fort Rucker, Alabama as well as in the Utah National Guard and Reserves. He served his country during Desert Storm in his beloved Germany.

Tracy worked for Nestle Foods (Stouffer’s) in Springville, Utah for 21 years. Tracy and Cindy loved living in the Provo area where they made many dear friends. They wondered if they would ever be able to have children. After nine years of marriage, they were blessed with a beautiful baby boy. They named him Travis Eyre Turner after his dad and grandpa. Tracy was such a good, kind husband and father who always put the needs of his family first. He was a peacemaker and a gentle giant.

They moved back to Logan in January of 2012 to assist Tracy’s sweet mom. After she passed away, they moved into their current home in North Logan. They absolutely loved living in this kind, caring neighborhood. Tracy enjoyed working in the Logan Temple Cafeteria until the time of his retirement. He was passionate about doing temple and family history work.

Tracy loved singing with his buddies in the Imperial Glee Club which is a singing group that began over 100 years ago which is now known as the Cache Valley Men’s Chorus. The group mainly performed for local events. However, they were invited to sing in Washington, DC, during the summer of 2020. They were busy preparing to go, unfortunately, Covid-19 put a stop to that. Although they were never able to attend, they were honored to have been invited to sing. Tracy was a volunteer at the Hill Air Aerospace Museum along with two of his friends.

Tracy is survived by his wife, Cindy and his son Travis of North Logan, Utah; by his sister Allyson Christensen (Lavell) of St. George, Utah; by his brother Corey (Patrice) of Copenhagen, Denmark; by his mother-in-law Linda Cutler of Logan, Utah; as well as by Cindy’s siblings and their spouses and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and dear friends.

Tracy is proceeded in death by his parents and many other loved ones. He was well loved and will be sorely missed by many here on earth, but is now enjoying a great family reunion in heaven!

The family would like to extend a special thank you to his caregivers over the years which include Nathan Call, MD; Teryl Hunsaker, PA-C; Trevor Smith, MD; Joshua Lovell, DO, and countless other medical professionals.
